I'm not prone to making drastic resolutions, especially for what I will or won't do in a given space of time, like New Year's. But I want to issue a challenge to myself and see if I can do it: walk a minimum of 10,000 steps a day. Preferably mostly aerobic steps. It takes me about 2,588 steps to walk a mile (average stride of about 2.04 feet). So I can consistently clock 10K steps in just under four miles. Quite do-able. The weather here will be the biggest hurdle but I can do it -- if it's too nasty outside, we have treadmills in the basement and the mall is just 15 minutes away. So really, the biggest hurdle is my own inertia and potential lack of motivation to get up and move.
I'll post my progress here.
Sorry for my profound lack of posting lately. It's been busy (when isn't it?) and I just haven't put my arse in the chair long enough.
